Steps for How to add Computer and other icons to your desktop (Windows Vista, Win7 and Windows8)

Right Click on your desktop and select Personalize

Personalize settings window will open, Click Change Desktop Icons On the left side of your windows

Desktop Icons settings Windows Opens up, Check box the Desktop Icons which to display anduncheck will remove Icons displaying from your desktop and Click OK to apply you settings.

Now the icons will appear on your desktop,

In Windows By default Only Recycle Bin icon will appear in desktop, we should manually add the Icons of Computer, User‘s Files, Network and control panel.
